My favorite snack - Hoddeok

This is one of the most popular Korean street snack , Hoddeok.
I'm not so sure if I spell it right or not.
Anyways, it is normally seen in winter on the street and looks like little pancake.
but it's very hot and sweet!
look at the picture! looks really yummy !
To make hoddeok, firstly you need to make flour batter with yeast.
and leave it for hours in warm place.
and then make the sauce! sauce is not actually liquid but when you fry it ,
it becomes liquid because of the heat
sauce is basically made of sugar and added cinnamon powder or nuts if you prefer.
when batter becomes swollen , it's perfect time to make hoddeok!
Take some batter and add mixture of sugar in the batter and fry it on a pan with oil.
simple!
while i'm posting this recipe , this homework really makes me hungry LoL

My favorite snack is Kim-ma-ri. (Sally)

Hello everyone. I had a movie nighht and just got back to dorm.

I hope I am not late for the homework due!

Anyway, my favorite snack I am going to tell you is Kim-Ma-Ri.

This is fried food with some kind of noodles in it. Ingredients could be various

depending on person's flavor. In other words, you can put some chopped peppers(I like it)

or carrots so that you could taste it better. The taste is kind of like crunchy.

However, it takes a little too much oil to fry it, so some of you might not like it.

Also, do you guys remember Duk-Bok-Ki which we've seen in the textbook?

Kim-Ma-Ri goes perfectly well with Duk-Bok-Ki, so you might want to take a note for that tip! :-)

I also thank you guys for giving me info about the snack I didn't know.

There is something new I can try later on! Woh~ I'm excited! :-)

Good night, see you guys tomorrow morning!

My favorite snack is Açaí na tigela ("açaí in the bowl")

Açaí is a native fruit from Central and south America. In Brazil we don't use to eat this fruit “in natura”, we freeze the fruit and after put in a blender and mix up until become a cream. We usually mix up this fruit with some fruits, especially bananas and after put some granola on top. I know the aspect of the cream is not beautiful but I guarantee the taste is really good! If you go to Brazil you have to have açaí in the bowl!

A Popular Snack in Hong Kong

Hi everybody, I am Lisa. I am going to tell you about a popular snack in Hong Kong- the Hong Kong Style Curry Fishballs.

There are many tuckshops selling fishballs in Hong Kong. They are really delicious. The fishballs are deep-fried and put in a curry sauce. It is hot and spicy. The fishballs are put on a bamboo skewer. And so, you can enjoy the snack when you walk home.

'Pig Skin' is also sold in this kind of tuckshop. The texture of 'pig skin' is different from fishballs but the same sauce is used to cook them. The taste of 'pig skin' is good too! If you ever travel to Hong Kong, you should try this snack.

AREPA. My Favorite Anack

Arepa is the name who has a traditional food in Venezuela, its flavor is really good and delicious. We can prepare it with some flour, a little of salt and water, mix those ingredients and put on the pan later when it ready, you can fill it with whatever do you want, the most common is fill with meatloaf, cheese, ham, butter or with "Reina Pepia", that is like a salad which ingredients are avocado, potatos, mayonnaise and chicken, this salad is very famous and traditional in Venezuela.
The arepa is a flat, unleavened patty made of cornmeal which can be grilled, baked, or fried. In Venezuela, various kitchen appliance companies sell appliances like the Tostyarepa and Miallegro's MiArepa, similar to a waffle iron, but in my country the arepa is traditionally grilled on a budare.

Bubble Tea, or pearl milk tea

Pearl milk Tea originated from Taichung, Taiwan. It is a special beverage in Taiwan. The famous tea drink is made from little tapioca balls that are boiled in black sugar and dropped in the milk tea, which tastes great served cold or hot.

Jason

Empanada.

Empanada is the most versatile food i've eaten, VERSATILE FOOD? WHAT? yes, you could eat them whenever you want, as your breakfast, lunch, dinner or even as a snack during the day. It is a mix of corn with water and salt filled with meat, cheese, ANYTHING YOU WANT, also octopus. And then fried and ready to be eaten. I'm probably writing about it because its one of the things that I most miss from Venezuela. They're very popular so you could find it wherever you want.

I could eat empanadas every day and I will never get tired of it. YUMMY.

My favorite snack.-Bob

My favorite snack is choudoufu, one kind of bean curd with strong smell that someone may feel it is scent. It is made from bean curd (But in Chinese food, bean curd is totally different form doufu.) with few different processes. Most of the important is to ferment, this process build up the smell. You can buy fresh choudoufu, and then fried or steam. We usually eat them with pickles. It taste pretty good, a lot foreigners does love it. It is kind of attraction of Taiwan. I strongly suggest you to try it once when you visit Taiwan.

My happiest memory

Hi I am Lisa. I would like to tell you about my happiest memory. When I was about eleven years old, my grandparents lived on Hong Kong Island. My father, my mother, my sisters and I lived in Kowloon. We used to visit our grandparents on Sundays. We would go by bus and ferry. We would have dinner and watch TV. My mother and grandmother used to talk for hours. It seems that they never get tired. My sisters and I would play some games. We had a lot of laughters. These are my happiest memories in the past.

Hello, this is Bob.I am glad to share my happiest memory with you.It is a journey to Germany in 2000 with my whole families including my father, mother, older sister,my twin sister ,and me.Even it is so far from now,I can still clearly remember that we have a lot of fun there. We ate Haxe, and it does scare me that it is too big to finish. The most I admire in the journey is the trip of Schloss Neuschwanstein.I was amazing for its beauty.I can bate it is the most pretty castle in the world. When you come into the castle ,you will feel you are in fairy tales.I really enjoy the time when we communicated with each others and walked in the forest beside the beautiful water fall nearby the castle. It was so happy that time.I would like to suggest you visit there at least once.

My Happiest Memory

When I was high school student, my family went to the India.
There is some dirty, but a lot of place is beautiful.
My family visited a lot of places.
And I leaned a lot of things.
The country was poor and a lot of people lived in India.
But, the richer has a lot of money.

And People worship the cow.
If cow stayed the road, people waited cow.
This situation, I don't understand.

One of the beautiful places is the Taj Mahal.
It's wonderful.

Then, our family spent a lot of time together.

Now my sister didn't live in South Korea.
So, This trip is last trip with all family.

Happiest memory with my family

Hi this is stella and I'm gonna talk about my summer vacation in 2008.
Since I went to the university, my family actually hadn't gone on vacation
altogether because my old brother went to military service for 2years and
I was also busy for some reasons. Anyways, we went to Kyoungpodae which is famous beach in Korea and quite far from my home. I was so excited because i felt like it was family reunion. When we got there, it was night and we were all tired and hungry. We stayed at a pension that was cozy and clean. There was a place that enabled us to barbeque, so we could have barbeque and seashells.
After eating, we went to the beach to do fireworks. My older brother and I ran around, holding sparkling things and my parents took pictures of us and drank beer sitting on the beach.

My Happy Memory

In the summer of 2006, my parents and I and my sister took a trip together to Germany. It's a fmaily activity. It's not easy to us to make a family travel, for my sister and I are collage students and not living in parents' hourse. As a student living off home, I usually have many activities with friends during the vacation. However, we finally made it in that year's summer vacation. This travel gave us the chance to stay with family for a long time about 2 weeks. We were able to eat breakfast, lunch, and dinner together, shop together, and sleep together. Actually, we spent all of our time accompanying each other. This is definitely one of my happiest memories in my life.

Jason

My happiest memory :-)

Hey everybody, I'm Sally. I'd like to share my happiest memory with you guys. Let me just tell you about my yesterday. Because I had so much fun yesterday and I've got something I've never experienced. Well, Hanbat uni. group was invited to Brenda's house. On our way to her house, she let us know about the animals, natural things around there. I was glad to be informed of something I didn't know. When we arrived at her house, I met her sister. We talked for a while, and she listend to me very well which I could feel like at home. The most exciting thing was the truck! Brenda gave us the first ride, and it was awesome!! I didn't even know the fact that there is a car that can go all over the forest! Brenda's son, Chuck also gave us a ride, and it was OMG! It was beyond my imagination so I just kept saying "Yeahhh~~~" I've also seen a lot of animals such as dog, peacock, lama, horse, chicken, etc... It was a whole new experience for me. It was kind of cultural shock to me. (in a good way!) I really appreciate Brenda for inviting us. I assume that I've been expecting something like this. Anyway, I wish everyone a good weekend and good luck on your assignments. Let's finish those in advance so that we won't get suffered later. :-) -Sally

Miniature Theme Park in Jeju Island

The miniature theme park is about 48,800m2 and built in May, 2001. From the entrance, we can see eiffel tower, Kaeseonmoon, Buckingham Palace, Florence Cathedral, Leaning Tower of Pisa, and Sydney Opera House etc. Also there are Statue Of Liberty, Colosseum, Pyramid, The Great Wall, KyungBok Palace as well as The Whitehouse etc. These world renowned creatures are exactly the same as the original ones but with one twenty-fifth reduced size.

You can enjoy watching all these phenomenal buildings at one place. Only thing you've got to do is go to Jeju Island. Jeju Island itself is the most beautiful legacy in Korea, so you can also find a lot more interesting things here!

980 meters of waterfall is enough for you?

It is well known that in Venezuela we have plenty avaliable beautiful landscapes :-), one of my favourites is the SALTO ANGEL, did you know that its the largest waterfall in the world? 980m. almost a kilometer of a huge quantity of water falling by a rock of a typical kind of mountains in Venezuela called TEPUYS, the Salto Angel is in the Auyantepuy, an aborigin name. It is called Salto Angel by an American aviator that had an accident on his plane at the top of the Auyantepuy in 1937. I've never visited it because to get there you must walk a lot and do many trips through the forest, but i'll go someday for sure!

The best place in my country! VENEZUELA

THE ANGEL FALLS

My country has many beatifull places, we have a small country but full of culture and variety of ethnic and natural monuments.

Venezuela is one of many countries where you can find all climates and landscapes that you want, in this activity I will talk about the Algel Falls, that is one of the seven wonders natural of the world.

It is the world's highest waterfall, with a height of 979 m (3,212 foot) and a plunge of 807 m (2,648 foot). The waterfall drops over the edge of the Auyantepui mountain in the Canaima National Park.

The height of the fall is so great that before getting anywhere near the ground, much of the water is evaporade or carried away as a fine mist by the strong wind.

The height figure 979 m, mostly consists of the main plunge but also includes about 0.25 mi (400 m) of sloped cascades and rapids.

The Angel Falls is one of Venezuela's top tourist attractions, but is a complicated travel to that natural monument, because in located in an isolated jungle region of Venezuela.

Definetely the Angel Falls is the most beutifull monument natural in the world. And if in any time you want visit some wonderful place and you like the extreme sports you can go to our Angel Falls we hope receive you with the best posible form, and of course you would have a time and an experience that you never forget.

Hi everyone,

Let me tell you a little bit about Quito, Ecuador. The first week of December, Quito has its founding celebration. This celebration consists of different cultural events such as, traditional dances, parades, and parties throughout the city. Perhaps, the most symbolic of celebrations during this week is bull fighting. Bull fighting is viewed with pride by the majority of people because of the decades of tradition and the numerous recognitions it has earned. As symbolic as this celebration (bull fighting) is, I am not in favor of it because of its cruelty and it excesses.

hi! i'm sseong ^.^

I think, the most popular beach in KOREA is HEAWONDAE
it's in busan. when the summer season becoming,
many people (about 10 million) assembled this place.
right about this beach have lots of hoters, bars, retaurants, clubs, etc.
and the sunrise scene at haewondae is the most beautiful as you see now.
once you arrived at the busan, all the sight around you will inspire you & you are must going to spend joyful time!

Did you know there are a lot of mountains in Korea?

this is a picture of Mt. Sorak

this is a picture of Mt. Worak in fall

and this is a picture of Mt. Chiri

Mountains in Korea is not as high as Mt. Everest, but they are beautiful places to go for hiking,
camping or vacation.

Actually, over half of the land is mountain and highland.
So, one of the sports koreans love is hiking on mountain and
it is said that once you get into hiking mountains, it is so hard to quit it.

There are four seasons in Korea and as seasons change, you can see the distinctly beautiful scenery of mountains.

In order to conserve them and keep it clean for next generation, there are national parks in mountains where we are not allowed to do fishing, swimming, camping, etc.
If you visit to Korea, I recommend you go to one of them and have a great time.

Eva Longoria Parker

Eva Longoria Parker is a famous American actress and model.
She landed her first television role in 2000, guest starring in an episode of Beverly Hills 90210.
In 2004, she got a role that made her a super star.
She starred as Gabrielle Solis in Desperate Housewives.
She's won 5 times with Desperate Housewives and been nominated many times at famous awards.
Gabrielle was just like her so I wouldn't imagine any other actresses for that role instead of her.
It doesn't seem that her real life is very different from gaby's life in the soap.
I don't know that much about her but I think she's a prankster like children and enjoy her life.
That's the reason why I like her so much.
She married Tony Parker, a talented basketball player, in 2005.
And finally one thing surprized me while I was googling about her was she is seven years older
that him! 8-O

Angelina Jolie - by Alice

Hey everybody!

Is kind hard to me to choose someone famous that I admire, because I admire bunch of them LOL.
So I chose Angelina Jolie. I chose her because she is one of the most strong women of the showbuzziness, she is not just an actress of Hollywood, she devote her time to help people in the whole world and because of this I admire her so much!

Here you can know 5 facts about Angelina Jolie

1- Angelina Jolie is Global Ambassador for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and is in charge of many charitys and funds for people who need help.

2 - In 2008 Angelina and her brother honored their mother who died of Ovarian cancer by donating to the Cedars-Sinai Medical Center in Los Angeles.

3 - Jolie has thirteen known tattoos, among them the Tennessee Williams quote "A prayer for the wild at heart, kept in cages", which she got together with her mother, the Arabic language phrase "العزيمة" (strength of will), the Latin proverb "quod me nutrit me destruit" (what nourishes me destroys me), and a Yantra prayer written in the ancient Khmer script for her son Maddox. She also has six sets of geographical coordinates on her upper left arm indicating the birthplaces of her children. Over time she covered or lasered several of her tattoos, including "Billy Bob", the name of her former husband Billy Bob Thornton, a Chinese character for death (死), and a window on her lower back; she explained that she removed the window, because, while she used to spend all of her time looking out through windows wishing to be outside, she now lives there all of the time.

4 - Angelina first adopted her son Maddox Jolie-Pitt from Cambodia in March of 2002, Maddox was born on August 5 2001. Several years later Jolie adopted for a second time this time from Ethopia. Her first daughter, Zahara Jolie-Pitt was adopted in July of 2005 and she was born on January 8 2005. Both the adopted childrens legal surnames were formally changed recently to Jolie-Pitt by a California judge. Angelina gave birth to her daughter Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt in Nambia, Africa on May 27, 2006. Brad was present and he even cut the umbilical cord. In 2007 Brad and Angelina adopted a young boy from Vietnam and they named him Pax Thien Jolie-Pitt, who was born on November 29, 2003. And at last, Angelina gave birth to a boy, Knox Léon, and a girl, Vivienne Marcheline, by caesarean section at the Lenval hospital in Nice, France, on July 12, 2008.

5 – Angelina is the daughter of actors Jon Voight and Marcheline Bertrand.
