Yushan which is also known as Jade mountain is the highest mountain in Taiwan. Its elevation is between 300 to 3952 meters and was once in the ocean before growing up to the current height result from the Eurasian plate skip under the Philippine sea plate.Due to the tropic of Cancer cross the center of Taiwan and the rapid drop in temperature with an increase in altitude, you will be surprised to see the plant variation of tropical, subtropical, temperate, and frigid zone with an elevation difference of 3.6kilometers(2.2 mile).Only mosses, liverworts, few grasses and snow can be found on the ground at the picks.
